Let the world fade. The pleasure
of being a woman’s favorite distraction.
There’s something I’ve always found irresistible about being completely present with another person.
Perhaps it’s because I’m naturally curious. I want to know what makes someone laugh, what makes him come alive when he talks, what he’s accomplished, what he secretly dreams about, and all the little things that don’t necessarily make it onto a résumé or into polite conversation.
I’m an educated woman with a playful, somewhat contemplative nature. I studied Philosophy and Classics in college, and I’ve never quite lost the habit of asking questions simply because I genuinely want to understand something. I enjoy people who have perspectives of their own, and I love the kind of conversation that wanders somewhere unexpected.
Sometimes the best evening is wonderfully uncomplicated: a beautiful meal, an unhurried conversation, a few genuine laughs, and the feeling that there is nowhere else either of us needs to be.
I’m quite fond of the small pleasures, too. A compelling book. A quiet café. A long walk somewhere beautiful. Discovering an obscure little detail that everyone else seems to have overlooked. A knowing smile across a table. Those moments when conversation becomes effortless and you suddenly realize how much time has passed.
And then there is the side of me that doesn’t necessarily reveal itself immediately.
I can be reserved at first, perhaps even a little demure. I rather enjoy letting someone discover me gradually. Beneath that quieter exterior is a woman who is affectionate, adventurous, playful, and much more mischievous than she might initially let on. I have a particular weakness for a man who enjoys being admired.
There is something wonderfully seductive about giving someone my undivided attention and watching him realize that, for the moment, he has it completely. I like noticing the details—the expression that appears when he’s pleased, the little shift in his confidence when he knows he has my attention, the way a man can become almost boyishly charming when he realizes he has managed to captivate me. And I don’t mind indulging that feeling.
I like making a man feel interesting. I like making him feel handsome. I like listening closely enough that he knows I’m not merely being polite. I’m genuinely interested in him. There’s a certain intimacy in being able to forget the rest of the room exists because one person has become so compelling. I have a feeling you might enjoy being the center of my attention.
With softness warmth,
Sasha Noelle
