While advance booking is preferred, I like to be spontaneous when possible as well. However, if you have a same-day cancellation and you are new to me, I will require a deposit for the next appointment. If the green 'available now' light is on, someone has cancelled and I am able to take a same day appointment, although I do need ample time to screen and get to the incall studio.
